Divine strength

Year 2020 has been different, more challenging and we have passed that by the God's grace and favor. We have so many questions on how this new year is going to be? Bible says, Lord has promised in Isaiah 41:10, that He is going to provide strength, help and support. Isn't that amazing Lord is there for us to help and support, what else do we need.

Source of our strength
We often feel that we cant overcome the battles of this world. The good news is we are never alone and not going to do with our strength. In Ephesians, Paul makes it very clear our source of power and strength is God. It is God, himself, who holds the power to fight and win.
"...be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might" (Ephesians 6:10).

Never give up
It’s not easy to stay strong, when we are uncertain and have so many questions. 1 Samuel 30, records the emotional state of David, "David and the people who were with him raised their voices and wept until they had no more strength to weep." David has no strength of his own but he never gave up because he knew the source of his strength was outside of himself and was in God.
"…David strengthened himself in the Lord his God" (1 Samuel 30:6).

Trust in Him
Our enemy knows our weakness, will try to exploit and make us fall. Even at our best, we are week and need God's strength. In God we have divine strength to destroy strongholds, fight battles and gain victory. We should pray for God’s strength and help, we should remind ourselves of God's promises and trust in His words. And put our faith on it.

Today, cry out to him to give you strength. You can find His strength, through prayer, Godly fellowship, God’s Word, and the power of His Holy Spirit.  Don’t leave today until you find the strength.
Always trust and rely in the Lord!!

Lord will heal the land!!

The entire globe is troubled after the virus outbreak and it has been declared as national wide emergencies in most of the countries. People are hopeless and in panic. Bible says, Lord will heal their land[II Chronicles 7:14]; But why it is not still healed? Everything comes with a price and the price is not paid yet.

Who can claim the promise?
God had entered into a covenant with Israel(and perhaps even modern-day Israel; believers of Lord Jesus Christ) and promised to take care of them and cause them to prosper as long as they obeyed him. He also said to bring curses upon them if they failed to obey. Because of the covenant relationship, there was a direct correspondence between their obedience and their prosperity, and their disobedience and their hardship.

What has to be done?
Humble - Seek - Pray & Turn
We always blame others for something which has gone worse; always say, 'Its not because of me'. But this time, we are going to accept it, face it and change it. Yes, its us. we need to accept that and humble ourselves before the Lord, ask for forgiveness. We might think, I am not so bad; just remember God's standard is always high and examine are we meeting those standards, identify the gaps and pray about that.
If a nation is in trouble, a prayerful and repentant response by Christians in that nation is always appropriate.

The Reward!
God will first hear our prayers, forgive our sins, which brought the judgment upon the land, and then will heal their land, and redress their grievances.

What we are waiting for still? We believers of Christ are the people who are called by God's name. If we, humble ourselves, pray, seek God's face, and repent, then God will heal our land.

It is time for us to pray and our prayers will heal our land.

Receiving Forgiveness!!

We saw the need of God’s forgiveness in our last post. Now Lets meditate on how to receive forgiveness.

We read in Bible that the thieves reacted differently to Jesus’ prayer. One hardened himself and joined the crowd’s railing. The other softened and put his life in Christ’s hands. Why? Why not? Do you recall Isaiah’s statement? He saw the Lord high and lifted up...and it caused Isaiah to fall prostrate and declare his own sinfulness.

One of the realities about God is that He won’t force Himself on you. If you are going to be forgiven, it will be when you ask.

On the tombstone of Copernicus (15th Century Mathematician) is the following inscription:

“I do not seek a kindness given Paul,
nor do I seek grace given to Peter.
But that forgiveness which thou did grant to the robber, that earnestly I crave.”

Forgiveness is the most important one for each believer. For receiving God's Forgiveness all we need to do is Admit and Ask. Do you recall the story of the prodigal? He went astray, deep into sin, but recognized his need and came back to his father. I have sinned was his opening statement. Immediately his father prepared a feast and the son was welcomed home. The book of Romans chapter 10, makes it clear that we must admit our fault to God, and be willing to turn to him.

It is never too late while you are drawing breath to make it right with God.

Need for Forgiveness

At the Last Supper, Jesus said to his Apostles, "Drink of it, all of you; for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins".(Matthew 28:26)

You might wonder what is the need for forgiveness, why Lord Himself came to the world and shed His blood for forgiving our sins.

Sin Alienates Us from God.

Bible says Adam and Eve's sin separated them from God. They could no longer bear to be in His presence, but sought to avoid Him(Genesis 2:17;3:8). In the book of Isaiah 59 verse 1&2 we read, Our sins and iniquities separate us from God, so He will not hear us. In Ephesians 2:12 we see People in sin are separated from Christ and without God in the world.

Forgiveness Restores Our Relationship to God.

The book of Romans 5:6-10 says, Though sin deserves punishment, God loves us so much He sent His Son to bear our punishment so we could be saved. In Ephesians 2:13 & 17-19 we see, though we were separated and far from God, we can be made nigh by the blood of Christ and have access to the Father and Colossians 1:21-23 says, our evil works make us enemies alienated from God, but through Jesus' death we can be reconciled.

The serious consequences of sin makes us understand our need for forgiveness. Emil Brunner says that just as the touch of a King’s sword on the head of a soldier, make him a Knight; so does the touch of the cross(Forgiveness and salvation) on the life of a sinner, make him a child of God.

Forgiveness is the most important one for our spiritual walk. While meditating, analyze whether all our sins forgiven and the relationship is set right with our Lord? If not its not too late ask God for the FORGIVENESS.
