We were discussing on submitting ourselves in Lords hands couple of weeks back. The verse striked in my thoughts was Jeremiah 18:1-6, God is our Creator and He has the power to mold us according to His plan. We are nothing but clay relying on the Potter’s wonderful working and the more we submit to His molding process, the more we will come out pleasing before Him.
God, the "Potter”
The potter gives full attention working with that helpless, ugly, messy piece of clay. His intent to transform that piece of marred clay into a masterpiece.
Bible says, in Isaiah 29 the clay has no power to question or command the potter. The Potter has complete power. Like a clay in potters hand, we are in Lord's hand says the book of Jeremiah. He has complete hold of our lives.
Lord doesn’t need us for anything but WE need God for EVERYTHING!
Mankind, the “Clay”
A worthless marred clay, through the potter’s hands, receives its value. We see different types of clay exists.
1. Clay that is bone dry:
The clay which was perfect in the past, didn't retain moist and becomes very dry. Likewise, all of us as believers when we first get saved become soft and mold-able clay; our lives are put into the potter’s hands. But over a period of time there are those who allow their spiritual life to dry up.
2. Clay that lacks moisture:
These clay are good enough but they need little more moisture to be molded as a perfect vessel. This is compared with believers who have just enough of a relationship with God to know they are saved and forgiven. They do just enough to make sure they will be saved when that times comes.
3. Clay with hidden air:
Some clay hold hidden air which cant be found until they are put in furnace. The pottery made with these cant withstand the heat and they will be broken. In the same way, some people have hidden sin. they do not confess it. Bible says in book of Proverbs 28, "He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy". The hidden sins will make us week when we are tested and that will make us fall.
Lets surrender our life in the Christ's hand like a clay in a potters hand and allow him to work as per His will.
